Hey, people, USE THE COMMENTS SYSTEM. If you get something deleted from now on, that means it was pointless and/or should have been a COMMENT.

Andy, I agree with you to the most part, minus the make others feel bad part. But rather than be contrary, I'll add my thoughts to those you've already expressed.

I think that I too will be chuckling as people commiserate at their high school reunions on wasted times, times where they could be doing things they love. I oftentimes get questioned by my mother on why I don't do more community service, because hey, it looks so good on my resume. Well, simply put, that's NOT where I want to put my time. I want to putz around my house, play videogames when I have them, hang out with the occasional friend, and then some. I don't live a hardworking life because I feel like I don't have to right now. I mean, of course there's preparation to be done, but I think I can handle it at my current pace. I know stuff, and more than the average (which is more than all those honors people I see, I'm including those in core and ESOL and all that). I know GPA isn't everything, neither are SAT scores, or IQ. I think grades have skewed the pursuit of knowledge, and that society today is screwing itself over. I think that a government of today in a time period like the Middle Ages would be dandy. Education is too broad. Why was there such mastery of trades? Because that's all you studied! No liberal arts training, just what you need to know to survive and make a good living. Just up the conditions of living and you're better off. I think.

Why is it that high school is actually hindering my self education?
Exibit A) I have not picked up Rise and Fall of the Third Reich since school started
Exibit B) It has taken me over a week to get through A Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, a book which normally would take me a lazy weekend.
Exibit C) I recieve more personal fufillment working about 1.5 hours a day at the Congressman's office than um around 8 hours at school.

well... i three had a dandy night last night. Dinner, ect. was pretty fun..... methinks the lovely Christy-san was somewhat discomfitted with our group.... but she claims it was fine...
On the Century ticket thing........ it's not supposed to be that way. SOMEBODY messed up.... I know the gov. advisor and just for curosity's sake i'm going to ask him about that next time i see him.

Yeah, uh, I had a dandy night last night, hanging out with my church clique at Century's homecoming. It was another fun night, and I was glad to have the opportunity to go to both.

I had worried about getting in, because Century had some screwed up 'system' for tickets, and my group had originally thought of going as far as making a fake ID. I had tickets under someone else's name (who gets many thanks), and I would have had to pick them up as him in order to get in. But when it came down to it, I just switched dates with someone who flashed their ID and we walked right in. Stupefyingly simple. But whatever, it was fun. The DJ sucked; he either lacked variety or he... no, he just lacked variety. But hey, I had yet another opportunity to get my white groove on, to my own enjoyment (but probably not one that was shared by my friends).

I'm realizing just how important it is to tell my employer what days I want to work, rather than hoping to not be scheduled.

PS: I love busy nights.
