Although blogger probably won't post this, it'll get up there eventually.
I agree that it is okay for people who are priviliged enough to chase after their dreams to do so. But what about the people in those third world countries? They can't! If life is a race, is it fair that some people would get to start a few feet from the finish line, but others start in the next county over? No! But hey, we all know life isn't fair. Just be glad it was for you.
I'm pissed at my boringness. I'd be better off if I stayed out later and didn't wake up until 5. Then I could eat some food and go out with peoples. That's all I do anyways, only I stretch it out over a long period of computer. And that's boring too.
Dude, there's so much to be fixed, and yet people either don't care enough, care but don't know how to help, or couldn't help if they wanted to. As a race, we suck. But that doesn't mean we all have to go down individually! Sadly, I forgot why I started this sentence "sadly." But yeah, as long as we're doing our part, we can only hope others do the same. Yeah.
If you own a four-wheeled vehicle and have a roof over your head, and just that, you are in the top 5% of the nation's wealth. Makes ya think a little bit, huh? I went down to the Dominican Republic for a missions trip with my church. The poor people there are POOR! Like, our "poor" people, people that live in low-income housing, or in bad neighborhoods or whatever, that's like their middle-to-upper class!! Americans are spoiled rotten. We have about 2% of the world's population, yet we consume about half of the world's food supply. Not kidding. As Americans, we eat as much over the normal amount of food that most people are under. (i.e., we eat 5 pounds more food than normal, whereas people in Africa are eating 5 pounds under the norm.) I hate what America has become. We point to our rights and freedoms and think that they give us the right to be utterly spoiled and corrupt. I'm not saying I'm not guilty of this, hey, I own 40 acres of land out in the country, but I still think it's just so disgusting.
"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here, this is the war room!"
Two things. First off, that's the problem. A lot of people can "just say," but nobody actually does. And now part two, it's ironic because that's exactly what I'm doing right now.
I know about all the issues and stuff, but I don't do anything. I don't know what that makes me. Probably just another part of, what, the top 1% of the world's wealth? Great... My biggest roadblock to doing anything is myself. Always has been, always will be. But does it always have to be? I hope it doesn't. Anyone else with me?
